Amonkhet is a vibrant plane inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology, where the sun god Ra, known as the God-Pharaoh, presides over a society that reveres strength and preparation for an afterlife filled with glory. The set's lore revolves around the trials that the inhabitants must endure to prove their worthiness, culminating in a grand event known as the Trial of the Gods. Mechanically, Amonkhet introduces the embalm and exert mechanics, allowing players to create zombie tokens from creatures that have fallen in battle and to enhance the power of their creatures by choosing not to tap them during combat. The blend of rich storytelling and innovative gameplay captures the essence of a world where destiny is forged through both valor and cunning.
