About Riparian Tiger

Riparian Tiger, Creature — cat, designed by Igor Kieryluk first released in Sep, 2016 in the set Kaladesh and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.26.

A deck focused on generating and utilizing energy counters would benefit from including Riparian Tiger, as it provides a solid body with the potential for growth and synergizes well with energy-based strategies. However, there may be better options available depending on the specific deck's theme and strategy, such as Longtusk Cub or Bristling Hydra, which offer more consistent value and impact on the battlefield. Riparian Tiger could see play in casual or budget decks looking to explore energy mechanics in Magic: The Gathering, but may not be a top choice for competitive play due to its higher mana cost and situational benefits.

Energy counters aren’t mana. They don’t go away as steps, phases, and turns end, and effects that add mana “of any type” to your mana pool can’t give you energy counters.

Keep careful track of how many energy counters each player has. You may do so by keeping a running count on paper, by using a die, or by any other clear and mutually agreeable method.

Some triggered abilities state that you “may pay” a certain amount of . You can’t pay that amount multiple times to multiply the effect. You simply choose whether or not to pay that amount of as the ability resolves, and no player may take actions to try to stop the ability’s effect after you make your choice.
