About Deep Reconnaissance

Deep Reconnaissance, Sorcery, designed by Jeff Remmer first released in May, 2020 in the set Odyssey and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 1.15.

This card would benefit a ramp deck looking to accelerate its mana base by fetching basic lands and potentially casting spells from the graveyard with flashback. While Deep Reconnaissance can be useful in certain situations, there are better options available such as Rampant Growth or Cultivate, which provide similar effects at a lower cost. Whether Deep Reconnaissance should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergy within the deck, but it may not be a top choice compared to other ramp cards in the format.

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you’re paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The converted mana cost of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.

You can cast a spell using flashback even if it was somehow put into your graveyard without having been cast.
