The fact that WotC's schedule for MTG releases has been a little chaotic has been a secret to no one. Just last year, there was already plenty of talk on how consumer fatigue and expectations were bound to be the downfall for the game pretty soon.
But, what's done is done. Like it or not, there are plenty of different products and releases scheduled for Magic:The Gathering's 31st year running, and here in this article you'll check out a full, detailed calendar for each of them.

2023 Release Schedule
Additionally to the releases shown above, a few other products have been announced, and they are Shadows over Innistrad Remastered, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth, Commander Masters and Doctor Who Commander Decks, besides all the Secret Lair releases, which are just so numerous they might as well have an article of their own.
The full schedule for these releases goes as follows, according to the latest news on MTG:
Dominaria Remastered – January 13th, 2023
Phyrexia: All Will Be One – February 10th, 2023
March of the Machine – April 21st, 2023
March of the Machine: The Aftermath – May 12th, 2023
Shadows over Innistrad Remastered – March 21, 2023
The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth – June 23rd, 2023
Commander Masters – August 4th, 2023
Wilds of Eldraine – Fall 2023
Doctor Who Commander Decks – Winter 2023
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan – Winter 2023
Though it seems like a packed calendar for MTG, after the mistakes and lessons learned in the previous year regarding releases overlapping one another and preview/spoiler seasons causing widespread confusion among players of all profile types, WotC will have to keep itself on track to make sure all sets and products are properly announced, teased, previewed, and released in 2023. We'll keep an eye out for anything that happens as we go throughout the year, so don't forget to check back here if something seems amiss.
Further Details
Dominaria Remastered
MTG's first set of the year, back in January, celebrated the 30th Anniversary as a Draft set, legal in Eternal. Cards from over 27 different sets were carefully selected to make up this wonderful present, which went through a very brief spoiling season, of only two days. Fans were happy to discover numerous reprints of their beloved cards were included in this set, at relatively reasonable prices.
Phyrexia: All Will Be One
This amazing set focused on the Phyrexian lore and continuation of the story has now become a fan-favorite for its amazing themes and constructions. This set features incredible new products, and is the first Premier set of 2023.
March of the Machine
The next set this year for Magic:The Gathering continues on telling the story of the game and includes a few very interesting developments which cause all planes to collide, which in turn brings about unlikely heroes together. Full details about March of the Machine were published and previewed at the Pro Tour and can be accessed here.

March of the Machine: The Aftermath
This continuation of March of the Machine is still deeply veiled in mystery. This "micro-set", as it is called by its developers, will "tie some loose ends" in the universe of the game, and any lore-fan will be happy to acquire this product to catch up with the story. The so-called "Epilogue Boosters" will contain each five cards, the most uncommon product of this series, and will come alongside the standard Collector boosters. The full details can be accessed here.
Shadows over Innistrad Remastered
This remastered version of the Shadows Over Innistrad set in 2016 will be released to MTG Arena, and include various cards from the original set and Eldritch Moon. There is no information regarding which of the coveted and iconic cards from each of those sets are going to be in the Remastered version.
The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth
Perhaps the most awaited set of the year, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth set is a product from the Universes Beyond series which is bound to be the apple of player's eyes this 2023. This Draft Set, alongside its Commander decks and Secret Lairs was inspired by the original works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and will be released on MTG Arena in Alchemy set form. All details available for this product can be accessed here.
Commander Masters
For all Commander Fans across the world, you can set the dates in your calendar for August 4th! This Commander-focused set is the next product for the Masters' series by MTG. A few of the format's most iconic cards will be reprinted in this product, including the famous Jeweled Lotus. Further details can be accessed here
Wilds of Eldraine
Fans of fairy tale lore will need to keep their eyes open for later in the year, as this set, focused on the fairy-tale-inspired plane, Eldraine, will be released in Fall 2023. As it is so further down the line for this year, not much has been announced for this product. The details we have can be accessed here.

Doctor Who Commander Decks
Another Universes Beyond release, this time focused on the famous BBC TV show, Doctor Who. This set promises to show new sides to famous iconic characters such as the Doctor, their companions, villains and all the different planets that they traveled to in their journeys. It will also come for Doctor Who's 60th anniversary, which is bound to be very special. Fans are expecting what is the usual makeup for these types of sets: plenty of reprints, new cards, and at least four Commander decks, besides a few Secret Lairs. The details we have can be accessed here.
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan
To end the year, MTG has promised and stated that this set is as different from Phyrexians as they come. This adventurer-themed set will have players imagining themselves as treasure-hunters in deep caves in this iconic plane, home to a few fan favorite cards.
