Geleende vijandigheid kan nuttig zijn in een rood, agressief kaartspel dat snel schade wil doorbreken, vooral in een kaartspel dat zich richt op gevechtstrucs en op gevechten gebaseerde strategieën. Er zijn echter potentieel betere opties beschikbaar, zoals Brute Force of Titan's Strength, die vergelijkbare effecten bieden tegen lagere kosten of met extra voordelen. Of Borrowed Hostility zou moeten spelen, hangt af van de specifieke kaartspelstrategie en de beschikbare kaartenpool, maar het is mogelijk niet in alle situaties de optimale keuze.
