About Brush Off

**Brush Off** zou het beste passen in een blauw controle- of tempodeck dat flexibele tegenmagie wil en verwacht te vechten over spreuken op de stapel, vooral in metagames met veel spreuken waarin tegenstanders veel instants en tovenarij spelen, omdat het kan functioneren als een goedkopere counter in tegenoorlogen. Bij een basislijn van **2UU** is het echter inefficiënt vergeleken met nietjes als **Counterspell (UU)**, **Mana Drain**, **Dissolve (1UU met bovenkant)**, **Sinister Sabotage** of zelfs **Annuleren**, en zelfs als er korting op wordt gegeven, wordt het slechts **1UU**, wat in de meeste formaten nog steeds slechter is dan Counterspell. In formaten waarin **Disdainful Stroke**, **Negate** of **Spell Pierce** haalbaar zijn, zijn deze opties vaak mana-efficiënter voor specifieke rollen. Hierdoor zou Brush Off waarschijnlijk alleen in beperkte formaten of in zeer budgetomgevingen worden gespeeld; in competitief geconstrueerde formaten zijn er simpelweg sterkere en goedkopere
