Een kaartspel dat zich richt op het opofferen van wezens of manieren heeft om herhaaldelijk tokens te genereren, zou baat hebben bij Dingus Staff, omdat het de tegenstander extra schade kan toebrengen wanneer wezens sterven. Er zijn echter betere opties beschikbaar, zoals Blasphemous Act, die schade toebrengt aan alle wezens en spelers tegen lagere kosten, waardoor het in de meeste situaties veelzijdiger en impactvoller wordt. Dingus Staff ziet mogelijk niet veel spel in competitieve decks vanwege de hogere kosten en het beperkte effect in vergelijking met andere beschikbare opties.
