Eclipsed Elf zou het beste passen in een Golgari (zwart-groen) Elf tribal- of midrange-deck dat waarde hecht aan kaartselectie op basis van wezens en mana-consistentie, vooral een die landdrops (moeras/bos) wil raken met behoud van de tribale dichtheid. De hybride B/G-kosten maken hem flexibel in zwaarzwarte, zwaargroene of echte Golgari-builds, en het ‘look at four’-effect zorgt voor soepele draws in grindy-games.
