This Dwarven Thaumaturgist card could be beneficial in a red aggro deck that focuses on attacking quickly and dealing damage. It can be used to surprise opponents by turning a small creature into a formidable attacker or by weakening a strong defender. While it has its uses, there are potentially better cards like Temur Battle Rage or Tainted Strike that offer similar effects with added benefits, so it may not see widespread play in competitive decks.

Because damage remains marked on a creature until the damage is removed as the turn ends, nonlethal damage dealt to a creature may become lethal if you switch its power and toughness during that turn.

Switching a creature’s power and toughness twice (or any even number of times) effectively returns the creature to the power and toughness it had before any switches.
