Gluttonous Troll is best suited to a casual or mid-power Golgari Commander deck built around Food, sacrifice, and token synergies, especially because its enter-the-battlefield ability creates more Food in multiplayer; cards such as Academy Manufactor, Peregrin Took, Tireless Provisioner, Trail of Crumbs, and Feasting Troll King can generate greater value or support the strategy more efficiently, while stronger sacrifice payoffs are usually preferable if the deck is focused primarily on sacrificing permanents. Its activated ability is flexible, but paying mana and sacrificing another nonland permanent for only +2/+2 is expensive unless you have disposable tokens or permanents that provide value when sacrificed, and the card is much less impressive in a one-on-one deck where it creates only one Food. If its cost is truly `{2}{B}{G}`, it is a reasonable casual inclusion and can be a solid role-player in a Food/sacrifice deck, but it generally should not see competitive play and is unlikel
