Ice Storm can be particularly beneficial in a land destruction deck, especially in formats where controlling the opponent's mana base is crucial, such as in Green Ramp or Stompy decks that aim to disrupt slower strategies. However, there are arguably better options, like Stone Rain or Molten Rain, which offer similar effects for the same mana cost but can target non-basic lands, potentially hitting more impactful targets in modern formats.
