Mesmerizing Benthid would be a great addition to a control deck in Magic: the Gathering, providing defensive capabilities with the Illusion tokens and protection with its hexproof ability. While it is a strong card for its cost, some may argue that cards like Torrential Gearhulk or Aetherling offer more versatility and impact in control strategies.
