Sturdy Shield Token, Token artifact — equipment, designed by Svetlin Velinov first released in Jun, 2026 in the set Marvel Super Heroes Tokens.
Sturdy Shield Token is a very low-impact Equipment and would mainly fit into very casual, low-power, or limited environments where any repeatable stat boost matters—typically in white-based go-wide creature decks or beginner-level Equipment-themed decks that just want cheap artifacts to boost small creatures. However, paying {2} to equip for only +1/+2 is below rate by modern standards, and competitive or even tuned casual decks have far better options. Bonesplitter (+2/+0 for {1} to cast and {1} to equip), Darksteel Axe (+2/+0 for {2}, indestructible, equip {2}), Maul of the Skyclaves (immediate impact with flying and first strike), and especially Colossus Hammer (+10/+10) in dedicated builds are significantly stronger. Even something like Ancestral Blade or Barbed Spike provides immediate board presence. Overall, this card would not see play outside very low-power or flavor-driven decks, as it is simply too inefficient compared to existing Equipment options.
