Introduction

“Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for a late pizza.”

- Michelangelo

The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtleslink outside website set is finally here. It includes several versions of these beloved turtles, including cards that represent two characters at the same time. In this article, we'll explore Mikey & Leo, Chaos & Order, the Selesnya Magic Symbol gMagic Symbol w duo formed by the funniest member of the group and its serious leader. We'll show you two lists with them: the main one centers around +1/+1 counters, and the second centers around tokens.

Without further ado, let's meet them!

Commander: Mikey & Leo, Chaos & Order

Leonardo is a brave leader and guides his brothers in their adventures. Meanwhile, Michelangelo, the most immature of them, is known for his jokes, which often make things lighter.

Mikey & Leo, Chaos & Order interact with counters to draw cards. This ability doesn't state any specific type of counter, so it interacts with classic +1/+1 counters and even counters that give creatures keywords like flying.

Main List

The main list centers around interacting with +1/+1 counters to grow the board. Like so, you'll always draw extra cards and put powerful creatures on the board.

Counters

Mikey & Leo, Chaos & Order might interact with counters, but they don't give you any. So, we had to add spells and creatures that do.

Obviously, we got more cards from this set than just this commander!

Besides the new Mutagen tokens that we can sacrifice to give counters to our creatures (with The Ooze, for instance), we added other cards that interact with these counters.

Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11, for instance, adds extra counters to our creatures, similar to Hardened Scales. As for Michelangelo, the Heart, it buffs a target on our second main phase as long as we attack that turn. It also creates a Food token.

For Leo, we added Leader's Talent, a class that gives us counters and 2 life as our creatures with counters leave play.

The last card from this set we'd like to highlight is Agent Bishop, Man in Black, which puts counters on up to two target creatures at the beginning of our combat phase.

When we cast Mikaeus, the Lunarch, we must pay X mana to give it that same number of +1/+1 counters. When we tap it, we can either put more counters on it or remove a counter from it to put one counter on each of our other creatures.

This card is so strong that it often attracts removals, so try to equip it with protection like Lavaspur Boots or Swiftfoot Boots whenever possible.

These other spells will also be great in this Mikey & Leo list.

Arwen, Weaver of Hope makes all our other creatures enter play with counters equal to her toughness, which starts at 1. As we put counters on Arwen, our creatures will enter play bigger and bigger.

Managorger Hydra and Forgotten Ancient grow as we cast spells. The difference between them is that the Hydra is cheaper and a bit more "selfish", as it keeps its counters to itself. It has trample, though.

As for Forgotten Ancient, it likes to share, so, at the beginning of our upkeep phase, we may move +1/+1 counters from it to other creatures.

Overwhelming Stampede also has a lot of potential as a finisher. With it, our creatures will gain +X/+X until the end of the turn based on which one of them is more powerful. They'll also get trample.

This powerful spell really fits our main theme.

These three-mana white creatures make our counters even scarier. With them in play, our modified creatures will have lifelink and flying.

Evasion

Big creatures aren't enough. We had to add evasion to make sure they deal damage.

Champion of Lambholt is one of the coolest green cards around. As creatures enter our side of the board, Champion grows. Then, in combat, creatures that are less powerful than this card can't block our attackers.

Note: Champion doesn't even need to attack to make this happen!

Garruk's Uprising is a must in any aggro list with green because it gives our creatures trample. Sphere Grid and Kodama of the West Tree will be quite helpful as well. They're slightly different, but still critical in this list.

Protection

We must protect our board so that Mikey & Leo can work, so we added some protection cards.

Card Draw

This aggro deck is green, so it can play green ramp. As a result, you'll often run out of cards without even realizing.

Even though this commander draws cards, we added more card draw.

Alternative List

Our main list centers around growing our creatures, but this one sets up an army of tokens for Mikey & Leo, particularly with creatures that create these tokens based on their own power.

In this strategy, Cathars' Crusade is one of the strongest cards. Because its ability triggers more than once per turn, we'll be able to put lots of new +1/+1 counters on our creatures with the help of our tokens.

By growing our creatures, we'll also put more tokens in play. Eventually, we'll finish the game with Moonshaker Cavalry, Craterhoof Behemoth, Overrun, or Triumph of the Hordes!

Final Words

Mikey & Leo, Chaos & Order are pretty funny in the animated show when they're together, but in MTG, they found new friends. Their adventures on your Commander pods will be epic.

This commander is also an excellent option if you have just started playing Commander.
