Wizards of the Coast has announced the release of Mood Swings, a new standalone card game created by Mark Rosewater, lead designer of Magic: The Gathering. The product will be sold exclusively on the Secret Lair website for US$24.99.
According to the official product page, Mood Swings is a game for 2 to 4 players, with matches lasting between 5 and 10 minutes. The objective is to win three rounds, called "tricks," accumulating points by playing cards that represent emotions such as "Anger," "Ambition," and "Joy."
Each box contains a complete deck of 45 cards, ready to play, with no prior deck building required. In total, there are 133 unique cards in the First Edition, distributed across four rarities: 48 commons, 40 uncommons, 30 rares, and 15 mythic rares. The deck distribution is fixed at 23 commons, 14 uncommons, 6 rares, and 2 mythics.
The original idea for the game emerged in 1998 as an attempt to create a simpler and more accessible experience than traditional Magic. The game will be presented to the public for the first time at a panel during MagicCon: Las Vegas, which takes place from May 1, 2026. Sales begin on June 1st, exclusively on the Secret Lair website.

Extended rules were also presented by MaRo on the Magic: The Gathering official website.
