About Electrickery

Electrickery, Instant, designed by Greg Staples first released in May, 2020 in the set Return to Ravnica and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Pauper and Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of $ 0.29.

This card, Electrickery, would be beneficial in a red aggressive deck looking to control the board by dealing with small creatures efficiently. It can be particularly effective against token strategies or decks with multiple small creatures. However, for a more versatile option, Pyroclasm or Anger of the Gods could be better choices as they have a wider range of damage and can deal with larger threats as well. Electrickery could still see play in specific metas where its ability to target multiple creatures at once is crucial for board control.

Rules

04/15/13

Casting a spell with overload doesn’t change that spell’s mana cost. You just pay the overload cost instead.

04/15/13

If you are instructed to cast a spell with overload “without paying its mana cost,” you can’t choose to pay its overload cost instead.

04/15/13

If you don’t pay the overload cost of a spell, that spell will have a single target. If you pay the overload cost, the spell won’t have any targets.

04/15/13

Note that if the spell with overload is dealing damage, protection from that spell’s color will still prevent that damage.
