What could fit a spy better than getting something for herself when her opponents get more information?Today, our star is Black Widow, Agile Avenger, a Boros version of the most famous spy in Marvel Super Heroes.In this article, you'll find a list that uses the "group hup" strategy against the opponents, helping them draw more cards and then punishing them with burn effects.As for the alternative list, it puts your opponents against each other and leans heavily into Goad effects.As usual, let's start by meeting our commander.Commander: Black Widow, Agile Avenger“Hello there. Expecting someone else?”- Black WidowNatasha Romanoff was trained by the Red Room to be a spy and eventually took on the mantle of Black Widow, a deadly agent who can get into any place and always goes the extra mile on her missions.Black Widow, Agile Avenger has Menace and a passive ability that triggers when an opponent draws their second card that turn. When that happens, Widow gets a +1/+1 counter, and you draw a card.It only triggers once per turn, but we must admit that this ability fits the "spy" theme to a tee.Unlike King T’Challa , who also does something whenever someone draws their second card each turn (click here if you'd like to see more!), Black Widow won't control the game to win.Actually, the red burn cards that accompany this legendary character are the ones that will carve a path to victory for you.Card Draw and Burn“We are not heroes. We are tools. And tools get used.”- Black WidowUnlike what most expect from a spy, this Black Widow will play cards that benefit her and other players. After all, the more they draw cards, the more she'll draw cards for you as well.As you want your opponents to draw cards but not get too far ahead, Balor's card draw and discard effect works really well. Besides this effect, this Demon can also force the opponents to sacrifice a non-token artifact and deal damage to them based on the number of cards they have in hand.Firemane Commando has been finding space in the most varied decks ever since it was released. It became a pretty versatile card draw option, particularly in Monowhite lists.The Hobbit set also unexpectedly brought us an enchantment that fits a wide variety of decks perfectly - this one included. Gleaming Splendor forces opponents to draw cards and also creates Treasures for you.Please note that its ability states "two target players," so you can use it on yourself!Two great cards in this list are artifact creatures. They are Scrawling Crawler, which makes opponents lose life whenever they draw a card, and Psychosis Crawler, which deals damage when you draw cards.To deal more damage with them and other cards in this deck, Torbran, Thane of Red Fell is essential, particularly in this list. And it is accompanied by a partner in this mission: Lightning, Army of One!This powerful Soldier came from the Final Fantasy universe. It forces the opponent that it dealt damage to take twice as much damage from any source until your next turn.Depending on what you do with this list, you can also play cards like City on Fire and Fiery Emancipation.BuffsNow you know what works in terms of card draw and burn, the two main elements that make this list work. So, let's briefly go over buffs, which will help you set up really dangerous attacks with your commander and other cards.Out of these cards, the most relevant is Sunforger. This equipment card is both a buff and an "on-demand" tutor that can get any instant in this deck. When you play it, you'll always be able to get the perfect answer for your situation.For instance, if someone deals a fatal blow to you, all you have to do is activate its ability and get Take the Bait, which protects you from combat damage. It also Goads those creatures and creates an extra combat phase.Now, if the threat in question is a boardwipe, you can get Boros Charm and make your permanents indestructible that turn.Do you need to remove something? Take your pick: Swords to Plowshares, Vengeful Dreams, Stroke of Midnight, Oblation, Generous Gift, or Chaos Warp.Ramp and Creating ManaThis color combination might not be known for its ramp, but, luckily for you, Monowhite lists have gotten a lot of ramp support lately, and a lot of it fits this list.Of course, you'll also find some classic mana rocks:Main ListAlternative ListSpies are not just great at taking advantage of the information they discover. They're also master manipulators. At least, that's what this alternative Black Widow, Agile Avenger list shows.With this version, you'll pit your opponents against each other with Goading spells, such as Bothersome Quasit, Day of the Moon, Disrupt Decorum, Komainu Battle Armor, The Sound of Drums, Spectacular Showdown, Grenzo, Havoc Raiser, and Life of the Party.If the opponent doesn't have a creature to Goad, no problem.
