Wizards of the Coast announced on Monday (17) that it is introducing a player-reporting system to MTG Arena. The tool will be available with the August 18, 2026 update and can be accessed in three places: the options menu (under the "Report Player" tab, next to "Report a Bug"), the challenge lobby (by clicking a player's card), and the friends list (by right-clicking or long-pressing a friend's name on mobile).

When using the system, players can choose from six reporting categories: inactivity (intentional stalling or slow play), hate speech (racism, sexism, homophobia, and similar conduct), inappropriate username, verbal abuse (harassment or offensive language), and spam (advertising, phishing, solicitation, or repetition). After selecting a category and adding relevant details, the report is sent to Wizards' customer service team.

To organize and process reports, the company has partnered with GGWP, a moderation platform used by other companies in the gaming industry. The platform assists with screening, but every report is reviewed and answered by people, with no automation involved. Wizards said that as the system matures, it may use automation for "clear and objective" cases, while keeping more complex cases under human review.
