Slumbering Trudge has put The Great Henge back on Pioneer's radar. The interaction between the two cards lets you cast Henge early, turning every creature that enters the battlefield into an extra draw. The deck is rounded out by an efficient ramp package with Badgermole Cub and a full set of cheap tutors that put creatures directly onto the battlefield.

Since Secrets of Strixhavenlink outside website's release, Mono Green Henge has already put up some results in the format, with two Top 8s and an evolutionary cycle that seems far from over. The original version ran Fight Rigging, but over time, Streets of New Capenna's enchantment has been trimmed down, and other cards have been tested in its slots.

In this version, we lean on Vastlands Scavenger, which beyond a decent body can also cheat mana costs and put bombs directly into play!

The combination that gave rise to the deck. Although it enters the battlefield "tapped," Slumbering Trudge is a 6/6 for one mana, letting us cast The Great Henge for Magic Symbol 1Magic Symbol GMagic Symbol G at any point in the game. If the game goes long, it also becomes a 6/6 for four mana that can attack and block.

In matches with Fatal Push, we cut Trudge due to how easily the opponent can answer it. We usually also trim one copy of The Great Henge since we no longer have the same consistency in casting it early.

Our main front includes traditional ramp with Elves and Badgermole Cub to double our mana. Spider Manifestation rounds out the package and turns into cost reduction if we play spells with mana value four or greater.

Among the payoffs, we have Craterhoof Behemoth for potential hit-kills with mana dorks, Titan of Industry as enchantment and artifact removal on top of a hard-to-remove threat, and Summon: Bahamut, which beyond functioning as removal, practically wins the game if it reaches its fourth chapter.

Vastlands Scavenger is a flex slot. I like having an additional way to cheat mana costs, but it performed much worse than expected. It could work in a list that takes more risks with high-cost bombs at the expense of consistency.

Consistency includes seven tutor copies with Nature's Rhythm and Invasion of Ikoria to fetch any creature. Ideally, we want to find one of the bombs, but we can also search for Sideboard pieces in Games 2 and 3.

With so many green permanents carrying various mana costs, we can activate Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx for more explosive turns. We also have Ba Sing Se as ramp and a complementary threat, and Boseiju, Who Endures as a maindeck answer to artifacts and enchantments.

Keen-Eyed Curator is more efficient than Scavenging Ooze if we enable Delirium, and its two-green mana cost also helps ramp with Nykthos.

Reclamation Sage answers artifacts and enchantments. We could include Scrapshooter if we want to respect Flying creatures, but giving the opponent an extra draw is not always a good trade.

Setessan Petitioner comes in against Aggro to buy extra life before we drop our bombs. Elder Gargaroth is a great complement against Aggro and a versatile tool against Midrange. You usually want more bodies against Aggro if your life total is secure. Against Midrange, the extra draw may be more important in some circumstances.

Questing Beast helps deal with Planeswalkers like Professor Dellian Fel or Teferi, Hero of Dominaria.

The Sideboard Titan of Industry is a complement against Midrange decks to handle Unholy Annex and the like, while also protecting itself from removal. Tail Swipe is our choice for board interaction to deal with Greasefang, Okiba Boss or Clarion Conqueror.
