Magic reveals Commander Format Panel Members

Through an article on its official website, Wizards of the Coast announced this afternoon (22) the creation and announcement of the members who constitute the Commander Format Panel. The committee will be responsible for managing the Commander format after a series of controversies in its last Banned announcement, which led to the dissolution of the Commander Rules Committee and its advisory group.

The members consist of content creators and players of the format famous in different spheres, including in the most competitive aspects of Commander. The panel also includes some members of the former advisory group and two members of the rules committee.

Gavin Verhey - @GavinVerhey

Gavin Verhey does a bit of everything in Magic: The Gathering. From former professional player to game designer to Good Morning Magic host to Pauper Format Panel spokesperson - a role he will also serve for the new panel.

Attack on Cardboard - @attackoncards

Hailing from Victoria, Australia, Attack on Cardboard is a member of the committee and joins a long line of Judges involved in Commander work.

Bandit - @bandimtg1

Bandit is an important voice in the French Magic community, focused on Commander. His YouTube channel covers everything from discussions to Commander gameplay.

Benjamin Wheeler - @BWheelerMTG

Ben Wheeler has a history of content creation with LoadingReadyRun and his podcast with Shivam Bhatt, Shivam and Wheeler Love Magic. He also curates formats such as Canadian Highlander, and was a former member of the Commander Advisory Group.

Charlotte Sable - @Jaqalyte

Charlotte, who lives in Finland, is a longtime Magic judge. She first drew a card in 1994 and has been a big part of the Magic judging community for a long time, including running a Tumblr where people can ask rules questions. Charlotte has been part of the Commander Advisory Group.

Dequan Watson - @powrdragn

Dequan Watson has been on just about every path a Magic player can take: from store owner, to competitive player, to tournament organizer, to former Wizards employee, to streaming, to writing articles, to, of course, Commander - to the point where he was also a member of the Commander Advisory Group.

Deco - @Deco_pdc

Coming from Brazil and being a voice for our community, Deco is a reference in competitive Commander and was part of the cEDH Brasil channel, as well as a channel focused on everything related to Commander, from casual to competitive, called Papo de Commander.

Gregory Sablan - @gregorysablan

Originally from Guam and another former member of the Commander Advisory Group, Greg has been playing Magic since 4th Edition and has been an Officer in the US Army for nearly nineteen years, currently serving in the Republic of Korea. He goes by the name ThePaintersServant on Twitch. Gregory co-founded the Alliance of Military Magic Players (AMMP).

Ittetu - @ittetu

Ittetu has been a key player in the expansion of the Commander format in Japan. A content creator for Hareruya, he has done everything from creating a compendium of Commander staples to making videos explaining decks and strategies. He is one of the main people behind Haeruya's Commander Summit series.

Josh Lee Kway - @JoshLeeKwai

Josh Lee Kwai founded the CommandCast and the Game Knights programs. He was also previously involved in the Commander Advisory Group and has extensive knowledge of social media and the Commander community.

Kristen Gregory - @NarukamiKnight

Kristen Gregory is the lead writer for Card Kingdom and the founder of the Bulk Commander format, which was used during the CommandFests in the UK. Even before joining the panel, Kristen had already shared her thoughts on the new matchmaking system with Gavin. Kristen was also part of the Commander Advisory Group

Lua Stardust - @luastardust

Lua ​​Stardust is a famous American cEDH player, with a history of participating in events of the format, in addition to also covering it on her gameplay channel, Scrybabies.

Olivia Gobert-Hicks - @goberthicks

Scott Larabee - @ScottLarabee

Scott Larabee works for Wizards of the Coast's events division for Magic: The Gathering and has been responsible for card designs such as Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle. He was also one of the first at the company to discover Commander in 2005 and was an early member of the format's Rules Committee.

Tim Willoughby - @timswheelbarrow

Tim Willoughby is another former member of the Commander Advisory Group and has a long history with Magic, including playing competitive tournaments, owning a store, and traveling the world through coverage.

Toby Elliott - @tobyelliott

Toby Elliott was a long-time member of the Commander Rules Committee. He also maintains the Magic Tournament Rules and has been the head judge for more Pro Tours than anyone else in history.
