The story follows students, including the Kenrith twins Will and Rowan, as they navigate rivalries, ancient magic, and the rise of the Oriq, a rogue mage faction seeking to harness forbidden power. Mechanically, the set emphasizes instant and sorcery spells, introducing the Magecraft ability, which triggers whenever a player casts or copies an instant or sorcery, as well as modal double-faced “lesson” cards that interact with the Learn mechanic, allowing players to fetch Lessons from outside the game or discard and draw.
