Selesnya Hammer Time is a new variant of Colossus Hammer and Sigarda's Aid decks in Pioneer. It swaps red enablers for a package of creatures with Hexproof available in green, ensuring that once the equipment is attached, it becomes very hard to remove it from the creature with spot interaction.

This is a purely aggressive and almost linear strategy. You want a Hexproof creature and some combination of equipment and tutors along with Sigarda's Aid or Super-Soldier Serum. You can sometimes gamble on slower hands, but keep in mind we have a natural weakness to stack interaction and/or sweepers.

Our game plan remains the same. We want to attach Colossus Hammer and Leyline Axe to a creature and attack for over 20 damage with Trample each turn. To cheat on equip costs, we lean on Sigarda's Aid as the main enabler, but the new Super-Soldier Serum has added even more consistency by letting us attach Hammers already on board, covering both angles of the archetype.

The difference from the Boros version lies in the choice of targets for the equipment. We trade free payoffs like Raubahn, Bull of Ala Mhigo or Kemba, Kha Enduring for a package of Hexproof creatures, which makes it harder for the opponent to interact with the board and turns them into safer targets for Super-Soldier Serum.

Beyond Gladecover Scout and Bassara Tower Archer, we also run a full set of Toadstool Admirer. Although it lacks Hexproof, Ward Magic Symbol 2 in the early game provides a one-drop that protects itself from traditional early interaction, enabling occasional early hit‑kills. Treat it as a flex slot.

To find Colossus Hammer, we run a full set of Cloud, Midgar Mercenary and Kellan, the Fae-Blooded. Both can also become unexpected hit‑kill targets if we have the Hammer plus Leyline Axe and Lavaspur Boots combination.

On the equipment toolbox, Shadowspear provides Trample and Lifelink against Aggro, Lavaspur Boots grants Haste for just one mana, Lion Sash offers a creature with built‑in graveyard hate, and Iron Man Armor works as an alternative win condition and another way to grant evasion.

Since we have greedy Magic Symbol WMagic Symbol W and Magic Symbol GMagic Symbol G costs on turn two, we need as many lands as possible that can produce both colors unconditionally. Starting Town and Mana Confluence round out the untapped duals for that purpose.

Sideboard

Knight of Grace has Hexproof against black spells and abilities, giving it free rein against Golgari and Rakdos Midrange. Jennifer Walters has a slightly better body than Voice of Victory while also shutting down the opponent's interaction on our turn.

Sheltered by Ghosts interacts with the board against Red Aggro and archetypes that might be faster than us. Rest in Peace answers or slows down graveyard‑based decks, and it is the only card in the list that demands a more reactive posture. If we want to keep proactivity in those slots, we can swap it for Remorseful Cleric or Soulless Jailer.
